Film is it worth the hype?

Film is definitely worth the excitement, it definitely requires patience and technique. Here are a few tips for working with film whether you are a model or a photographer.

- Get a good camera, whether its borrowed or a thrift store try to get a good quality or well taken care of so you don't have any problems

-You are very limited, take one shot from each look.

-When you shoot make sure the makeup you have is bold!

-Film can be grainy or not as focused as a digital camera so make sure your makeup is a little bit darker than usually for example if you have very light eyebrows try to use makeup to darken them because you might lose your brows!!!

-Be careful with your film after been taken with, don't let the roll get into direct light or you will lose your pics ( talking from direct experience

sadly)

-Even put makeup for guys! just powder and darken their features

-Study film and be patient with yourself, it's gonna take a little awhile to understand fully film. But once you understand it completely you can start breaking rules.

- Have fun and experiment, it is a trial and error to find your style especially with film!

- Kodak, Fuji film rolls, and Portra are some that I love! I bet there are better but these are the most affordable.

- Finding a place to get them developed is definitely a challenge because they can damage or ruin the color. I know there are some that you ship your film to them or shops you can them. Do your research just in case and ask them questions to make sure!!
